Informal Friday Seminar: Naqvi -- An introduction to buildings

Buildings are a class of simplicial complexes with nice combinatorial and geometric 
structure. Originally developed by Jacques Tits in the 70s as a way to study semisimple 
algebraic groups over arbitrary fields, they generalise properties of flag manifolds 
and symmetric spaces. This talk is a friendly introduction to the theory of buildings.
