Please join us for an exciting seminar on H-triangulations of 3-manifolds.
In this talk we will discuss 1-vertex triangulations of the 3-sphere obtained from ideal triangulations of knot complements. In particular, by using the techniques of fully augmented links we show that for any knot in the 3-sphere, there is a 1-vertex triangulation of the 3-sphere with an edge forming the knot. (This is joint work with Daniel V. Mathews, Jessica S. Purcell, and Jonathan Spreer).
